Cityscape Global 2012, the largest exhibition in the world specialized in the real estate investment and development marked active and strong participation from Dubai Land Department (LD). In its participation in this event, the LD focused on a package of achievements and projects it called the “Seven portals”. They include registration, regulation, promotion of investments, Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI), real estate evaluation, real estate solutions and the GIS system. Moreover, the LD is keen to communicate with the public in such events to offer consultations and answer inquires about its services directly.
Sultan Butti bin Mejrin, Director General of the Dubai Land Department (LD) said: “Our participation in Cityscape Global is distinctive and has a clear impact at this time particularly as the LD reached another milestone in safeguarding property rights, real estate registration, regulation, and investment promotion. The LD currently offers distinguished 205 services to clients in the real estate market”.
He added that the LD is keen to participate in events serving Dubai’s real estate market and the department renews its continuous support to this exhibition and its commitment to harness its accumulated efforts and advanced expertise to encourage investment and development. The LD sees this event as a platform for investors looking for realistic opportunities in developing markets and flexible and recession’s resistant states.
Cityscape offers networking opportunities to build partnerships and strong relations between investors and developers for strategic investments. Also, cityscape is platform to discuss issues related to project financing, sustainable development and exchange experiences among all concerned parties.

He pointed that the LD will continue to formulate initiatives serving this sector and dealers to keep pace and meet the aspirations of the wise leadership. Through Real Estate Investment Management & Promotion Center, the investment arm of the department, the LD completed a number of initiatives. The Center works to manage and promote real estate investments, development, organizing the investment environment in Dubai. Moreover, the Center launches electronic programs and systems that provide comprehensive services available at the official website of the department. Through this portal, LD presents all needed information about its services, Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), e-services and other services to facilitate transactions and procedures for dealers.
The LD has directed its efforts to protect the property’s rights and it will continue to service this sector and clients by introducing more initiatives in line with the aspirations of the wise leadership so LD becomes the best entity of its kind in the world in terms or real estate registration, regulation and promotion of investments.
Bin Mejren noted that the LD will organize Alternative Dispute Resolution Conference on the sidelines of Cityscape. The conference will be held on October 4, and will discuss alternative ways to resolve property disputes, increasing awareness in the region about such topics, enhancing cooperation between those working in the real estate sector and judicial authorities regarding conflict resolution. The ADR conference also offers a platform to exchange experiences between countries in the field of arbitration and conciliation.
