04 October 2018

·         Real estate success for a distinguished partnership

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 4th October 2018: On the final day of Cityscape Global 2018, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited Dubai Land Department's (DLD's) platform and reviewed the Dubai REST smart platform, DLD's latest technology that enables users to verify their properties through facial recognition. His Highness commended DLD's efforts and eagerness in providing innovative and smart services and technologies that attract investors and establish a secure real estate environment that allows operations to be completed transparently and easily.

His Excellency Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of DLD, commented: "We are pleased with our strategic partnership with Cityscape Global 2018 which has helped us achieve many of our corporate goals. Our platform was a destination for esteemed individuals and was visited by a large audience of exhibitors who were interested to learn about our latest technologies, the most prominent of which is the Dubai REST smart platform that reflected our slogan 'Dubai Land Department…simulating your property with artificial intelligence.'"

Through the strategic partnership with Cityscape Global 2018, DLD concluded its participation this year with an unprecedented level of success, especially with the high level of interest that the platform attracted from visitors who interacted with DLD's representatives.

Her Excellency Majida Ali Rashid, CEO of the Real Estate Promotion and Investment Management Sector at DLD, said: "The services provided by DLD help encourage and attract investment, especially through the organisation of mobile real estate roadshows and workshops in different places around the world. Each year, we review and evaluate our agenda to reach investors in their countries, highlighting the unique features of Dubai's real estate market when compared to other competitive destinations. We are pleased with our agreements with various parties that assist us in promoting Dubai as an investment haven that exceeds investors' expectations in many fields."

Her Excellency added that on 10th October, DLD and Informa Middle East have invited developers to attend a luncheon to discuss real estate cases with senior experts and real estate professionals.

The last day also witnessed the signing of two memorandums of understanding (MoUs), the first between DLD and the Council of Arab Businesswomen, and the second between DLD and The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). HE Sultan Butti bin Mejren signed the first MoU with Abeer Essam El Dein Refaat, Chairman of the Council of Arab Businesswomen, while HE Juma bin Humaidan, Deputy Director General of DLD, signed the second MoU with Sean Tompkins, CEO of RICS.

The first MoU aims to enhance the role of women and encourage real estate investment in line with the importance of women's role in Dubai and Egypt through women communities, especially in the fields of real estate investment and promotion among others. It also aims to consolidate the real estate sector among Emirati and Egyptian women by providing a unique and balanced investment environment, based on smart services, to create an innovative and sustainable global real estate setting.

The MoU with RICS aims to increase public and investor confidence to encourage foreign direct investments through the promotion and implementation of international standards, the development of unified systems and appropriate international standards among developers, investors, tenants, owners, operators and appraisers, and through the establishment of a reliable and accurate database.

Both parties look forward to promoting the real estate market and projects by organising events and participating in international and regional conferences and exhibitions. This supports the developers' presence and ensures the rights of investors by saving them time, effort, and money.

DLD, through its strategic partnership with Informa Middle East, seeks to strengthen relations with partners in various fields, supporting the sector and spreading real estate culture and awareness, leading to a qualitative leap in the real estate sector. DLD's agenda is full of promotional events that will be held in the coming months of this year in Dubai and beyond.
