In his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has issued law No. (2) for 2013 amending law No. (7) for 1997 on land registration fees.
The new law set registration fee for a storehouse sale contract at (AED 10) for each square metre of the land area in which the facility was built provided that the fee should not be less than AED 10,000. The revised fee is lower than the previous rate of 2% of the contract of sale.
Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of Government of Dubai Land Department, said the new fee will have positive impact on the industrial sector in Dubai as the new move will significantly contribute to support small and medium industrial enterprises, encourage industrial investment and attract industrial companies to Dubai.
He added the revised fee will support the Department's drive to deliver the leadership's vision for a diversified knowledge-driven economy in consistence with UAE Vision 2021 through stimulating the macro-economy and promoting Dubai as a favourite destination for industrial and logistic businesses at regional and international levels.
