Maktoum bin Mohammed Blesses the Inauguration of DLD’s Smart Pay Service at GITEX 2016
16 October 2016

Dubai Land Department (DLD) was recently honoured by a visit from His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, at its participation in the 36th GITEX Technology Week.

His Excellency Sultan Buti Ben Mejren, Director General of DLD, provided the organisation's esteemed guest with a comprehensive outline of the 'Smart Pay Service', which was developed by the department, and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum gave his blessing to the system's launch at the event.

His Excellency Sultan Buti Ben Mejren, Director General of DLD said: "We had the great honour and pleasure of meeting His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, it was a true privilege to receive praise from his Highness about the new system, and we valued his*- appreciation of the DLD team's efforts to serve the real estate sector in the Emirate."

Ben Mejren added "The development of this system falls within in the framework of the tireless efforts exerted by the DLD to achieve intelligent transformation. The organisation carries this out in harmony with its commitment to contribute towards the Dubai Strategic Plan and its orientations to provide superior service to customers in a smart way. This comes in addition to providing new systems for customers, and to achieve the DLD vision of innovation, trust and happiness in line with the Dubai Plan 2021."

The new payment system launches a wholly new chapter in DLD's continuous progress, as it seeks to shift from traditional payment systems using banknotes, credit cards and cheques. Eager to provide comfort and safety to its customers, DLD has worked to develop a new system allowing people to pay on smart devices in a quick, convenient and safe way at the touch of a button with the Smart Pay Service.

The Smart Pay Service allows customers to settle the required fees electronically, with a small screen displaying details of the procedure and its fees. The system also enables customers to pay the outstanding amount through a smart app connected to the screen with several other payment methods, which includes credit cards, bank transfers from selected banks in addition to 'Noqodi Wallet'.

The Smart Pay Service also has several other features which include saving credit card data, the option of reviewing previous transactions and checking the remaining balance of 'Noqodi Wallet'. The first Smart Pay Service phase was activated at Dubai Land Department's Customer Service Centres, which enables customers to issue a map, verification certificate, NOC letter and a replacement certificate. This will benefit a large number of customers, especially owners and representatives, brokers, investors, real estate developers and their customers.

In addition to being able to pay outstanding fees through the smart app, customers can complete their own transactions without needing to go to the bank, ATM or deposit post-paid cheques. The new app can be found online and on smart phone apps through Noqodi application which support IOS and Android.
