LD introduces e-appointment system for brokers
14 February 2012

The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), the regulatory arm of the Government of Dubai Land Department (LD) launched its e-Appointment System, which allows brokers to book suitable appointments to save their money, time and efforts. The new service will improve customer service in accordance with best internationally-recognized practices to achieve excellence in all services provided to clients.

Yousif Al Hashimi, Director of the Real Estate Licensing Department asserted that the introduction of new services that is part of LD’s strategy to streamline work processes and work with brokers as a one team to improve the quality of client services.

According to Al Hashimi, the e-Appointment System allows brokers to book appointments from the comfort of their own offices and freely choose appropriate timing to complete transactions, thus reducing waiting time for clients and regulating the flow of work at the department.

Through the e-Appointment System, brokers can choose the type of transaction and select the exact timing (down to the minute) for their appointments through an expanded and flexible schedule. Clients can also upload data, information & related documents from their offices. The system was introduced with aims to reduce the time needed to complete transactions from 60 minutes to only 10 minutes. LD’s staff can just verify the documents instead of performing data entry and scanning.

The Real Estate Licensing Department in cooperation with the Information Technology Department offered training courses to educate 87 brokers on how to use the system as the LD is keen to provide the various services which facilitate the procedures. The system can only be used by RERA’s accredited brokers, so brokers need first to check the validity of their licenses before using the system.

Booking can be made by logging on to LD’s website (www.dubailand.gov.ae) and clicking on e-Services, then selecting the e-Appointment System. After providing the needed information, the broker will receive a username and password by e-mail. Once brokers make appointment and print the code, they will be provided with the required service according to the specified time.
