Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 9th October 2017: Dubai Land Department (DLD) has enhanced its participation in the 37th GITEX Technology Week 2017 by showcasing state-of-the-art technologies that reflect its outstanding achievements in the real estate sector.
During the event, DLD displayed a 6 x 2 metre flip-dot screen for the first time, which provided an electromechanical representation of Dubai's real estate projects and DLD's real estate transactions, as well as a virtual reality experience for visitors.
His Excellency Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of DLD, commented: "In light of the advanced technologies we have introduced at this premier technology exhibition, we wanted to equip our stand with a striking and memorable display that would be enjoyed by all visitors. Our choice to use a flip-dot screen, which attracted an unprecedented number of visitors, complemented our launch of a number of important real estate services at the event."
DLD participated at the event under the slogan 'Simple, Secure, Fast' to demonstrate its commitment to providing quick, easy and secure services that protect the interests of its customers. This was reaffirmed when the department announced that it has adopted Blockchain technology in cooperation with a number of government institutions and private companies, becoming the first government entity in the world to achieve leadership in this field and supporting the vision of the Government of Dubai to make Dubai the smartest city in the world.
The flip-dot screen is a high-tech mechanical installation built on an authentic motion concept. It consists of black and white small magnetic plastic dots controlled electrically to flip, converting content into mechanical movement. The screen is also connected to motion sensors and cameras that allow it to mirror the movement of visitors, creating a fully interactive experience for the event attendees. It attracted a high number of visitors to DLD's stand and provided them with an engaging insight into Dubai's real estate market.
