Dubai Land Department Provides 60 Vacancies in 10 Specialties for Young UAE Nationals
22 April 2014

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, has praised a Dubai Land Department (DLD) initiative to provide 60 positions for young UAE nationals with qualifications in 10 specialties.
His Highness made the comments during a visit to the DLD stand at Careers UAE 2014, the country’s largest jobs and employment forum, which is taking place from April 22-24 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. DLD had earlier announced that 60 vacancies are being made available for fresh graduates and other suitably qualified candidates who are keen to join the work environment at a government department and assist with the national vision of promoting Emiratisation.

DLD is aiming to attract UAE candidates with qualifications in BA Law, BSC Civil Engineering, BSC Survey Engineering, BA Business Admiration, BA Human Resources and BA Accounting for its positions. Vacancies for citizens with degrees in Public Relations and Marketing, Information Technology, and Quality Management and Geographic Information Systems were also announced, bringing the total number of specialties to 10.

“We are honoured to be playing a significant role during Careers UAE 2014 and would like to emphasise that our priority is to support the vision of Dubai’s wise leadership in promoting opportunities for young UAE citizens who are our future,” said HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of DLD. "The youth are the country’s basic foundation for development as they are its future leaders. If both the public and private sectors can successfully attract the right candidates we can translate the visions of our leadership into solid outcomes," he added.

Careers UAE 2014 is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, with the slogan ‘Together we build the vision of our country.’ DLD is participating at the event with two stands, the first under the umbrella of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department and the second, separate and larger display, offering visitors an insight into the activities of its departments. DLD representatives are receiving CVs from interested candidates for its positions directly at the booths, as well as conducting face-to-face interviews with them on site.

“The opportunities being provided by DLD are available exclusively to young nationals who wish to gain experience of the real estate sector in Dubai. We are treating all applications fairly and transparently to ensure that we employ the best candidates. Experience is not essential as we will be providing full vocational training to prepare the successful applicants for their roles,” said Ahmed Bin Faris, Senior Director of Human Resources Department, DLD. “We rely on events such as Careers UAE to find appropriate personnel who can carry the department’s message in the future. They help us to ensure we source young and enthusiastic UAE workers to increase the percentage of national employees in our department, which currently stands at an impressive 90 percent,” he added.

According to the organisers of Careers UAE 2014, this year's version of the fair is the largest yet in terms of area and number of participants, with 160 exhibitors occupying a floor space of 17,388 square metres. Alongside the expected high footfall from members of the general public attending, it is anticipated that the exhibition will attract the attention of official authorities and the media, as it is viewed as being an instrumental component in helping the UAE achieve a sustainable economy, both in the private and public sectors.
