Dubai Land Department launches the Real Estate Registration Trustee
18 October 2012

Dubai - United Arab Emirates, 18/October/2012 – The Dubai Land Department (LD) has launched the real estate registration trustee. It is part of e-services package launched by the department during GITEX Technology Week 2012. The aim of this service is to execute and complete client’s transactions outside LD’s working hours through a number of offices licensed by the LD.

Sultan Butti bin Mejren, the LD’s Director General said: “The launch of new electronic services comes as part of the integrated development plan for e-services in order to execute and complete client’s transactions without the need to visit the LD’s headquarter. The development also targets saving time and effort, facilitating procedures and reducing congestion at LD’s customer service center; overall this will lead to the provision of outstanding service with the highest technical standards and electronic quality. This approach reflects LD’s accomplishments and quest to implement the e-vision followed by Dubai Government and to instill e-transformation policies in public and private sectors.

Bin Mejren stressed that the new system developed by the department allows licensed firms to register some property procedures and transactions outside LD’s working hours in order to facilitate and accelerate the process of property registration for investors. This enables these firms to act as registration trustee according to agreement with the department that states the terms and powers awarded to the registration trustee to complete real estate procedures.

The Real Estate Registration Services Department will be responsible for licensing and monitoring the work of firms acting as registration trustee. The trustee must be a legally qualified UAE national. The new system will accelerate the transaction processing; moreover clients can use the same official database used by government for registered properties, which facilitates the process of data entry and ensures accuracy.
