[UAE – Dubai – 18 November, 2015] - Dubai Land Department (DLD) announces its participation in the UAE Innovation Week to be held from 22-26 November, the UAE Innovation Week comes as a celebration of innovation in the UAE, in line with the directive of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to mark 2015 as the "Year of Innovation." The week also builds on the National Innovation Strategy which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai as a primary tool to achieve UAE Vision 2021 to be among the best countries in the world by 2021, the nation's Golden Jubilee year of formation.
During the UAE Innovation Week, DLD will showcase innovative initiatives emanating from United Arab Emirates strategic sectors for innovation and a confirming the week's message which states that "Innovation is available for all of us in any field we like it".
"DLD's participation with other government institutions in the UAE Innovation Week is part of our commitment and the active role we play in the translation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, guidance, and our contribution to the overall objectives developed by His highness for this initiative," said HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of DLD.
Through its initiatives DLD aims to strengthen the UAE's position as a leading innovation hub globally, and contribute to achieving UAE Vision 2021. To achieve this, the government has provided every possible support to help all entities to build a culture of innovation.
"Since the announcement of this initiative, we developed an integrated plan involved by all departments to improve the performance of its various operations by exploring ways of developing them in innovative ways. Thanks to coordination, cooperation and teamwork between various colleagues, we were able to reach unprecedented innovative solutions, and we expect them to contribute to bring about a radical change in our services," said HE Majida Ali Rashid, Assistant Director General of DLD.
Through the program, which was launched in response to the initiative of the UAE Innovation Week that have been announced in early August, DLD opened the doors for the staff and customers, to provide new ideas and re-evaluation of innovations, in the framework of the continuous keenness to disseminate a culture of innovation to be one of the key components in the way its operations perform.
In its first initiative, Dubai Land Department (DLD) will showcase its partnership with the UAE Space Agency, where the public will have the chance to meet the 15 Emirati students who travelled to Singapore, where they learned about the basics of space exploration at the city-state's renowned NASA Academy.
DLD will focus on Al Maharra initiative, Sustainability initiative, Corporate Creativity & Innovation Diploma, "Investor's Wall" which will be launched on one of the walls at the main building in customer lounge, a special wall to display DLD's smart applications using QR Code approach.
The week will also feature workshops, seminars and innovation labs that aim to generate new ideas and re-evaluate innovations introduced during 2015.
The UAE Innovation Week will be highlighted by the launch of various government and private sector initiatives, and will host a wide-range of events and activities by the government, the private sector, academic institutions, research centers, and schools.
