Dubai Land Department Hosts Consul General of Australia

 High level meeting enables government department to showcase its achievements

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Land Department (DLD), has hosted a visit by HE Gerard Sabre, Consul General of the Australian Government, which took place at the DLD headquarters recently.

The meeting, which enabled DLD to showcase its achievements in the emirate’s real estate sector, was conducted in the presence of Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of DLD and Sultan Yamahi, charge d’affaires of the United Arab Emirates in Australia, as well as a number of representatives from DLD’s senior management.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohammed presented an introduction about DLD to the Australia delegation, giving a detailed explanation about the department’s history, its activities and the most prominent landmarks that have been a feature of its development. A significant part of the brief highlighted the institution’s remarkable achievements in Dubai’s property development sector over the years.

Sheikh Mohammed used the visit to outline the array of functions provided by DLD’s various arms that support property development in Dubai, revealing how these enhance its operations and act as a strong earner for the national economy. The attendees also discussed the recent legislation that has been passed to regulate the sector and ensure its stability, thereby strengthening confidence among its portfolio of stakeholders.

"DLD’s activities have helped to enable Dubai’s residents and visitors to enjoy world-class facilities. These activities that have placed the city in the high rankings of international indicators,” said HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Chairman of DLD. “The fact that the department regularly hosts receptions for international officials is a confirmation of its the success and of its strategy of making Dubai the first choice real estate environment for attracting global investment," he added.

DLD is anticipating receiving numerous more international delegations in the forthcoming months and years in light of its ongoing efforts to translate the directives and realise the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Ruler of Dubai. The department is also expected to generate significant interest from its crucial role in helping Dubai win the right to host Expo 2020.
