Dubai, UAE, 17th July 2019: Dubai Land Department (DLD), represented by its Registration and Real Estate Services sector, announced the initiation of the partnership it had previously signed with the General Department of Criminal Investigation at Dubai Police for the new smart housing security system.
Incorporating many other parties, including major real estate developers in Dubai, the agreement aims to disperse security awareness among Dubai’s residents through developers who can collaborate with other relevant parties to introduce the benefits of the new smart housing security system. In line with this partnership, DLD will support Dubai Police’s security initiatives by organising workshops with real estate professionals.
Lt. Col. Rashid Abdul Rahman bin Zabawi Al Falasi, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, commented: “The primary objective of our meeting with DLD and developers is to expand the home security system and encourage citizens and residents to utilise and install the system as a means of protecting their homes. At Dubai Police, we fully support this programme by cooperating and integrating with government entities and the private sector. Dubai ranks 11th globally among the safest cities, and such initiatives will strengthen its position to rank higher, progressing on its path to becoming the first and best across all fields.”
Majid Saqr Al Marri, CEO of the Registration and Real Estate Services sector at DLD, said: “DLD is the main focus of this agreement through which the police will spread awareness about the new system, ensuring that the campaign results are effectively followed up and targeted. We are delighted to strengthen our cooperation with Dubai Police and work together to achieve the vision of our wise leadership to consolidate the Emirate's position among the most secure cities for its citizens, residents, and visitors.”
During the meeting at DLD’s headquarters that brought together major developers and Dubai Police, the attendees discussed means to activate the agreement signed between Dubai Police and DLD to enhance the level of cooperation and development of smart systems. The smart home security application was also presented by Dubai Police representatives to the audience, highlighting its strengths and the need to spread news of it as much as possible to improve upon safety measures cross Dubai.
Owners and tenants can easily install these sophisticated devices that are deemed optimal to traditional CCTV systems. The new system is safe and authorises access to the landlord, not the police. Additional meetings will be organised with specialists, including Owners Associations, registered developers, and registration trustees among others.
