DLD to Give 60 Jobs to Young Nationals at Careers UAE 2014
21 April 2014

Dubai Land Department (DLD) has announced that it is to give 60 positions to UAE nationals during Careers UAE 2014, the country’s largest jobs and employment forum. The government property organisation is a major participant at the fair, which was launched today under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, with the slogan ‘Together we build the vision of our country.’

DLD’s participation in the exhibition, which runs from April 22-24 at Dubai World Trade Centre, forms part of its commitment to support the UAE government’s mission to offer employment opportunities to young citizens, as well as to contribute to the development of the nation. The organisation says the positions in its various departments will be made available exclusively for UAE citizens.

“DLD is making 60 jobs available to young UAE nationals who want to join a work environment that will allow them to acquire high level of experience to serve the UAE’s real estate industry, which is one of its fastest growing sectors,” said HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of DLD. "The department will receive CVs from interested candidates during Careers UAE 2014 and will conduct interviews with them directly at the booth. This is a fantastic opportunity for young UAE citizens to start out in a highly rewarding career in a dynamic and rapidly evolving sector,” he added.

In addition to the jobs for nationals agenda, DLD announced that it is to provide 50 scholarships for UAE citizens to undertake property courses organised through its Dubai Real Estate Institute. The organisation said it aims to provide successful candidates with the opportunity to acquire specialised skills that will enable them to engage professionally with the property market in Dubai.

"DLD has made it a top priority to support the vision of Dubai’s wise leadership in promoting opportunities for young UAE citizens, who are the future of the country. The only way to achieve this national goal is to make every possible effort to train these nationals in established institutions that will allow them to gain necessary experience and build their skills sets,” continued Bin Mejren.

Due to its proactive, transparent and open Emiratisation policy, DLD has been able to attract a suitably qualified cadre of UAE personnel for its various divisions over the past few years. It has already achieved a high degree of localisation, which currently stands at 90 percent of its total workforce.

“DLD has always been proactive in launching initiatives that will qualify and empower UAE youth for leading the next stage of the country’s progress,” said Ahmed Bin Faris, Senior Director of Human Resources Department, DLD. “Our efforts in this regard do not start and stop with Careers UAE 2014. Throughout the year, we announce various vacancies and training courses that are provided free of charge and exclusively for UAE citizens. This policy has helped us to meet the vision of the UAE government and provide fantastic opportunities for our young nationals,” he added.

DLD is also using Careers UAE 2014 to sign a number of partnership agreements and memorandums of understanding with universities and educational institutions in Dubai. The relationships it builds with these establishments ensure that it can receive a continuous supplying of well qualified graduates for its positions across its various arms.

DLD is participating at Careers UAE 2014 with two stands, the first under the umbrella of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department and the second, separate and larger display, offering visitors an insight into the activities of its departments.

According to the organisers of Careers UAE 2014, this year's version of the fair is the largest yet in terms of area and number of participants, with 160 exhibitors occupying a floor space of 17,388 square metres. Alongside the expected high footfall from members of the general public attending, it is anticipated that the exhibition will attract the attention of official authorities and the media, as it is viewed as being an instrumental component in helping the UAE achieve a sustainable economy, both in the private and public sectors.
