DLD receives artistic images documenting the creative visions, reflecting the overall urban renaissance in Dubai
[Dubai, United Arab Emirates, December 23 2017]: Dubai Land Department (DLD) organised a special event to honour the winners of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed International Photography Awards (HIPA), in line with its inauguration of the 'Cube' customer service centre to provide integrated services for real estate investors.
DLD collaborated with the HIPA organising committee to acquire entries that focused on the technical aspects of projects and real estate buildings in Dubai, which are an icon that attract photographer from across the world.
The awards programme, which is considered one of the most prestigious photography competitions in the world, was launched with the aim of supporting, celebrating and honouring the best works of budding and professional photographers.
Her Excellency Majida Ali Rashid, Assistant Director General and Head of the Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Center the Investment arm of DLD, commented: "Our collaboration with HIPA allowed us to achieve many goals, including acquiring a series of photographs that document the creative vision that drove Dubai towards the comprehensive and unique real estate boom it enjoys today. The city has reached global prestige for the uniqueness of Dubai's architecture and infrastructure."
During the process of selecting and evaluating the winning images, the judging team relied on several criteria, the most important of which were the quality of the images, their accuracy and their level of creativity, as well as their original vision and content. The awards programme has provided DLD with an archive that reflects the core of its work, especially as the photographs represent a creative endorsement of the accomplishment, urbanisation and renaissance of Dubai's real estate market.
Majida added: "What has been achieved on the ground reflects the wise vision of our leadership and the dedication of DLD's employees to keep up with this vision and turn it into reality. This is where the award's 2017 theme, 'Building the Vision', came from. On this occasion, we would like to thank the award winners and all the participants for their prominent and effective role in this first-of-its-kind programme, which emphasised how successful partnership and cooperation can create projects that foster creativity."
The synergy between DLD and the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Photography Awards saw this year's edition focus on photography of projects and buildings in Dubai under the theme 'This is how the vision is built'. DLD provided sponsorship for the programme in order to reward the top three winners, who were selected according to a set of highly technical standards and received cash rewards, and six other winners who were awarded certificates of recognition and gratitude.
