Director General of the Land Department Inspects Registration Trustee Offices
13 January 2014
Facilities launched in July now responsible for 3,000 transactions per month

HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of the Dubai Land Department (DLD), has undertaken an inspection of the Registration Trustee Offices located across Dubai. The new facilities, which were inaugurated in July, have taken over a considerable amount of much of DLD’s central office workload and are now responsible for conducting over 3,000 real estate transactions per month.

The aim of bin Mejren’s visit from was to check the workflow in the offices, which now number 11, and assess how their respective operations have been running in the six months since the service commenced. During the tour he was briefed about the level of services provided by these offices, with reference to DLD’s stated aim of putting customer satisfaction at the top of their priorities.

"This visit showed the level of demand these offices receive from the general public for various real estate transactions. We were delighted with the high level of professionalism that they so clearly demonstrated,” said Bin Mejren. “The commitment and dedication on display from all of the staff confirms the success of DLD’s strategy in providing easy-access services for all customers,” he added.
Bin Mejren revealed that each office performs an average of 10 real estate transactions per day, bringing the total daily figure to 110. With each office officiating on 3,300 deals per month, it means that the combined number of transactions since the service commenced is in excess of 18,000, all of which have been conducted in outlying premises set up to provide greater convenience for real estate customers. Bin Mejren pointed out that the initiative has provided 60 jobs for citizens, with DLD employees being assigned to different offices based on audit requirements.

During the visit, bin Mejren instructed all real estate registrars working in the Registration Trustee Offices to utilise the DLD ‘E-STEP,’ The initiative has been designed so that employees can be in harmony with the overall strategy of the department, which is aimed at improving the model of government service provided to investors.
