Dubai Land Department scoops awards in 'Innovative Leader' and 'Creative Idea' categories
Dubai Land Department (DLD)'s superior record of achievement and success has been acknowledged at the highest level with the bestowing of two prestigious government awards. The real estate organisation scooped its brace of accolades in the Dubai Government Excellence Programme, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The awards, which were won under the categories 'Innovative Leader' and 'Creative Idea,' were presented to DLD at a special ceremony held at the Dubai World Trade Centre yesterday evening.
HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of DLD, expressed his gratitude for the two honours that were garnered in what is one of the most important local awards programmes: "We are extremely pleased and proud to have been recognised for our efforts in this current session of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme. These wins are an acknowledgement of the incredibly high quality of our work, but they are also a challenge for us to maintain our level of excellence and to achieve even greater success in our participation of the next session of the programme," he said.
DLD's distinction in the category of 'Innovative Leader' followed the nomination of HE Majida Ali Rashid, Assistant Director General and Head of Investment Management and Promotion Center, in recognition of the national role played her department and its participation in the preparation of numerous initiatives that serve the real estate sector. Its win under the category 'Creative Idea' was achieved from the accomplishments of its Real Estate Development Programme (Tanmia), which was launched in September 2011 to revitalise the real estate sector and to encourage investment through the forging of relationships that ensure investment returns for all parties.
"It is a great honour for me to win this award, which I consider to be a highlight of my career to date. I would like to thank Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, the Chairman of DLD, for his patronage and continuous encouragement; HE Sultan Butti for his unlimited support and direct supervision; and all my colleagues who work together as one team to achieve the department's objectives and overall mission. It encourages us to continue endeavouring to provide the highest standards of service to the department's valued customers and to the wider Dubai community," said Majida Ali Rashid.
In addition to its two wins, DLD was also nominated in a third Dubai Government Excellence Programme category; 'Distinguished Administrative Idea.' It was put forward for inclusion in this additional category following its Real Estate Registration Trustees' initiative; a system that allows a number of approved registration offices by DLD to register their real estate transactions through multiple locations and subsidiaries operating outside the department's normal working hours.
